At Holy Cross Lutheran Church we believe that
the only audience for our worship is God. All others present are called to
lift their voices and instruments in praise of the God who would rather
die than live without us.
Our worshippers are led in this praise by four very special groups:
the Traditional Chancel Choir, the Contemporary Ensemble, the
Children's Choir and the
Hand Bell Choir. All of these folks work hard and are uniquely gifted by
God for service in his holy name.
The Chancel Choir leads the congregation in the singing
of hymns and the liturgy during traditional worship each Sunday. They also
sing choral arrangements and hymns as special music each week. You do not
have to read music to sing with this group. We will teach you what you
need to know!
The Contemporary Ensemble leads contemporary worship each
Sunday. This group needs both singers and instrumentalists. If you play
keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, drums, flute, trumpet, baritone, sax, clarinet
or any other instrument, they would love to have you join them! You do not
need to play like a professional. The Ensemble also needs singers. Once
again, you do not have to read music. We will teach you what you need to
know.
The Hand Bell Choir provides beautiful, joyous special
music which brightens and enlivens our worship together. We are ready to
purchase another octave of bells and need additional ringers. Once again,
it is not necessary to read music to play hand bells. If you can count you
can master this instrument. We will teach you what you need to know.
The Children's Choir is for ages three
through fifth grade. They provide special music to delight the heart at
least one Sunday per month in both worship services, as well as special
programs at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Of course, all children
are welcome.
All of these groups enjoy fellowship together as they serve the Lord in
the ministry of music. Won't you join us? Just show up for practice at the
times shown on the schedule at the top left of this page. What could be
easier?
