Christian clowning first appeared in European Lutheran churches in the late 1500's. It is a way of presenting the gospel message in colorful, mime drama that appeals to people of all ages and cultures. 

The Holy Cross Rainbow Brigade was formed in 1998. They perform original skits based on scripture during Contemporary Worship, at nursing homes and at other locations wherever they are invited. Special training sessions for new members of the troop are held as necessary each year.
