PROJECT MATTHEW 25:35
“I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” — Matthew 25:35 (CEB)
Project Matthew was created by members of our congregation to ensure that families in need within our community can enjoy a full Thanksgiving meal. By providing the necessary groceries, we aim to bring warmth, hope, and nourishment to those facing hardship during the holiday season.
In the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, our church family donates food items and financial contributions. Volunteers then assemble “meal in a box” packages—including a turkey—and, with the help of local partners, distribute them to families identified through community outreach efforts.
Thanks to generous hearts and helping hands, this ministry has been a blessing to many. Since 2008, Project Matthew has expanded to serve more than 125 families annually.
In 2024, we were able to provide complete Thanksgiving meals to over 104 families, and additional non-perishable items to 40 more. Our hope is that this ministry continues to grow, so that no family in our community goes without the joy of a Thanksgiving meal shared at home with loved ones.
